Micki Fine, M.Ed., is a pioneer of mindfulness in Houston, Texas, a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction teacher, founder of Mindful Living, a TEDx presenter, and retired psychotherapist. She has taught mindfulness and loving-kindness meditations since 1994 in various settings, her private practice, Rice University, The Jung Center Houston, and research environments, including M.D. Anderson and UT School of Nursing. She’s the author of The Need to Please: Mindfulness Skills to Gain Freedom from People-Pleasing and Approval Seeking.

Through her children’s picture book, May All People and Pigs Be Happy, and her new curriculum, Secret Superpowers: Strong Foundations for SEL Competencies, Micki is now using her expertise to bring the gifts of mindfulness and loving-kindness to young children and the adults who guide them. Children can recognize and trust their innate nobility by learning these practices, thus developing love, resilience, and wisdom.
